Weekend Report

Well we started off with the group DB presentations. Everyone did very well, Tomas gave his views on the presentations, some were correct and some I did not agree with. Then we went to Manulife, the main point of the exercise seemed to be to confirm the concept they already had. Nevertheless it was ok. A few of us went off for a few drinks and a bit of nosebag in an Irish bar.

Saturday, went exploring around the markets near Central, lots of pokey little side streets and stores. There was specific alleys for things and after a good bit of searching we found the poker chip street and had a good haggle with the owner for a significant price reduction.

There was a good few games of poker on Saturday evening. The big winners were Amir and I, Dave and Lucus took a bit of a hit but will make it back in future I am sure.

Sunday we went out to Stanley harbour. Lots of coffin dodgers complete with poodle, there were no shortage of blue rinsed perms and british retirees. We had a very chilled day and got some food & wine (eventually).

Monday in Macau, the Marriott guys were good, the casino was pretty obscene. The venetian decor was not really my style. On the way back from Macau a couple of us stopped off on Nathan road to do a bit of negotiation. I was surprised how inflexible they were and unwilling to negotiate on price. In the end, the best price for the 8 gig iphone and a nikkor 55 - 200 telephoto lense was about 5300. I will probably buy today......
